North Thompson Valley, Wells Gray Park, British Columbia (BC), Canada

Located in the Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada, the North Thompson Valley is a recreational wonderland full of adventure and excitement with a wilderness challenge.  Wells Gray Park, located in the North Thompson Valley, boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

The valley is well known for its hiking, fishing, heli-hiking, heli-skiing, back-packing, whitewater rafting, wildlife viewing and outdoor adventure.

Starting north of Kamloops on the Yellowhead #5 Highway, travelers can enjoy the hospitality of such communities as Barriere and Little Fort. Farther north, Clearwater, known as the "Gateway to Wells Gray Provincial Park", can be found. Further along the Yellowhead #5 Highway you will find Vavenby, Avola and  Blue River.

Yellowhead #5 Highway passes through a scenic region of farms and forests dotted with crystal clear lakes perfect for swimming, boating and fishing.  

Wells Gray Provincial Park is the largest and best known park in the area and is known as an outdoor adventure paradise. Remote volcanoes, now extinct, spectacular waterfalls and rugged peaks are notable features of the park.  more
